Teaching practice Phase 1 ( Week 1)

The first day of my teaching practice was notably warm and welcoming. The teachers at the school were bustling to complete their portions in preparation for the Onam exams, creating a sense of urgency and energy in the environment. Despite the rush, everyone was supportive and helpful, which made me feel comfortable as I settled into my role. The students were enthusiastic and engaged in their classes and activities, demonstrating a keen interest in learning and contributing actively.

On the second day, the school held an assembly where oaths were taken for the student leaders. This event was a significant part of the school’s routine and provided me with insight into the school’s culture and student governance. Observing the ceremony gave me a better understanding of how leadership roles are fostered and respected within the school community. It also allowed me to see how such events can impact student motivation and school spirit.

As part of my role, I have been handling activity lesson plans for revision sessions. The students are already familiar with the events and have been participating actively in these sessions. Their engagement and willingness to contribute have made the teaching process smooth and enjoyable. Overall, the first week of teaching practice has been very positive, with an encouraging environment and proactive students, setting a promising tone for the weeks ahead.
