Cognitive map

Image
Concept mapping (CM)  is  a teaching and learning strategy that establishes a bridge between how people learn knowledge and sensible learning. Students need to  have  sufficient foundation and a critical thinking about CM and the relations between different concepts. Concept mapping promises to  be  useful in enhancing meaningful learning and students‟ conceptual understanding. Concept mapping helps meaningful learning  in  several ways. It  is  an activity that provides the student with an opportunity  to  organize, summarize, analyze and evaluate many different ideas. Thus,  it  promotes the development of critical thinking skills, which can then  be  used for other meaningful learning activities. I did concept mapping for the units of class 11 and 12. The units were “Beyond the horizon” and “Challenges of life”

Innovative work

My innovative work is a model that uses a ludo game board to ensure students have a clear understanding of the grammar portion on prepositions. The board has two sides: one side features the traditional ludo game, while the other side contains envelopes with questions focused on prepositions. The students are divided into groups to play the ludo game, and each group can only move their pieces after rolling the dice if they successfully answer a question from the envelope. This method turns the learning process into an exciting challenge, where students must focus on answering correctly to proceed in the game. By blending a familiar board game with interactive learning, students are more engaged, and this creates a fun and dynamic environment that makes learning prepositions enjoyable. In doing so, the students not only grasp the concept of prepositions but also actively apply them in real-time, reinforcing their understanding of preposition usag...

Digital text

A digital text is any written content that is stored and presented electronically, rather than in a physical form like paper. It can be accessed and read on digital devices such as computers, tablets, e-readers, or smartphones. Digital texts include a wide range of formats, such as eBooks, articles on websites, PDFs, blogs, and online documents. They often feature interactive elements like hyperlinks, multimedia (audio, video), and search functions, making them more dynamic than traditional printed texts. https://online.fliphtml5.com/rqhkh/pbtj/#p=7

ICT lesson plan

Image
An ICT (Information and Communication Technology) lesson plan is a structured outline designed to integrate technology into teaching and learning.   The lesson plan often includes activities like using computers, the internet, multimedia presentations, or educational software to make learning more interactive, engaging, and relevant to modern technology. The goal is to develop students’ digital skills while supporting their learning in other subject areas.

Teaching practice phase 2 (week 6)

This week marked the final stretch of my teaching practice, and it was a bittersweet experience. We completed all the portions just in time, ensuring the students were well-prepared for their upcoming exams. I also had the chance to implement my innovative lesson plan on prepositions, using the ludo board game method, which the students enjoyed and found engaging. In addition, I conducted my ICT-based lesson plan, integrating technology into the classroom to make learning more interactive and fun. As the week came to a close, we bid farewell to the students, wishing them all the best for their exams. It was a memorable and rewarding experience to see them grow throughout the teaching practice.

Teaching practice phase 2 (week 5)

This week, a special assembly was held with a meaningful focus on teaching students how to interact with and support physically handicapped and mentally challenged students. It was a valuable opportunity to foster empathy and understanding among the students, helping them learn to be more inclusive and compassionate in their interactions. In addition to this, I had another observation by Nadeem sir, and I was pleased to receive positive feedback on my teaching methods and classroom management. His encouraging words have motivated me to continue improving and refining my approach in the classroom.

Teaching practice phase 2 (week 4)

This week, I wrapped up the lesson “The Nightingale and the Rose,” making sure the students had a solid understanding of its themes and message, and then introduced a new lesson, “A Day in the Country.” With the exams just around the corner, we shifted our focus to intensive preparation, ensuring that the students were well-prepared for what was ahead. To keep the students engaged and focused despite the exam pressure, I introduced different teaching models and activities that sparked their curiosity and maintained their interest in the lessons. These interactive methods not only helped in reinforcing the concepts but also made the classroom atmosphere lively and dynamic. As we move closer to the exams, my goal is to ensure that the students remain attentive and confident in their preparation.
